Charlotte Residents Will No Longer Have to Wait in Line to Get Into Their Favorite Bars and Nightclubs CHARLOTTE - Are you tired of spending all night standing in line at your favorite bar or nightclub only to pay a cover charge when you finally get to the door" So was local resident David Stafford. Stafford recently launched a revolutionary new website, www.davesviplist.com. The website is a fully automated, online reservation system for bars and clubs. He has developed relationships with many of the popular nightlife hotspots, and through his website, customers can get on the coveted VIP List so that they don"t have to wait in line as well as pay less to get in the door. The website, which went live November first, offers VIP List access and private table reservations to many of your favorite nightlife venues. The website is adding new bars and nightclubs to the list every day. "I came up with the idea after seeing a Fandango.com commercial at the movies. I knew right then and there that it was a brilliant idea and that people would love not having to stand in line. I talked to many of the people in the industry and got ideas and suggestions for the website and now I am proud to offer the people of Charlotte a way to pay less, and wait less when they party," said Stafford. Stafford, 26, was born in Concord and has lived in the Charlotte area all of his life. While an undergraduate at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, he was first a photographer and then Marketing Manager for www.carolinanightlife.com. He bartended at Time Lounge part time as well. After graduating with a B.A. in Public Relations, he wrote a book, Cool Jobs for College, which is available through Amazon.com or at the website www.cooljobsforcollge.com. Stafford became Assistant General Manager of Dixie"s Tavern earlier this year where he still works. For more information visit www.davesviplist.com or contact David Stafford at 704.307.2164.

Article provided by: Rick Lyke www.Lyke2Drink.blogspot.com Do You Lyke2Drink" That’s why veteran drinks journalist Rick Lyke created Lyke2Drink. Read about beer, wine and spirits; travels to breweries, distilleries and wineries; festivals and events; alcohol issues; beverage marketing; and have fun along the way. Cheers! The Real Political Test: Who Would You Rather Have a Beer With" Iowa Caucuses" Old news. New Hampshire and South Carolina Primaries" Do you really want people from those two states deciding the leader of the free world" It’s time for beer drinkers to voice an opinion in really the only true measure of what counts. Which of the presidential candidates would you rather have a beer with in 2008" The pint poll is the brainchild of the good folks at the National Beer Wholesalers Association. It is better than any motor voter law being administered by your state DMV. Right now Barack Obama is leading all candidates with 27 percent of the votes cast. The next four highest vote totals go to Republicans: Ron Paul is second with 15 percent, followed by John McCain at 11 percent and a tie between Fred Thompson and Rudolph Giuliani at 8 percent. On the Democratic side, John Edwards has 7 percent and Hillary Clinton comes in at 6 percent. Should we put our trust in America’s beer drinkers to select our next president" Given the results from the last several ballots I say drink up! Go to www.whodoyouwanttohaveabeerwith.com to cast your vote.

Cumberlands on King Street downtown Charleston, a favorite local venue for live music for the past 15 years will be celebrating its final holiday season in Charleston. Cumberlands has been one of the most progressive sites for punk, rock, jam, and Indie bands to jam for Charleston locals, but the end of an era has come to a close. Cumberlands is not going away quietly though - their end of the year calendar is full of bands and shows paying homage to their legacy. Be sure to make Cumberlands one of your holiday stops as Charleston say farewell.
