  A side trip to Charleston one Friday afternoon brought me to the Kickin" Chicken"s doorstep. Located in the center of downtown Charleston on the notorious King St. this local spot has a lot to offer in its small quarters.

  No, the bar isn"t the biggest in town, but their chicken strips are! I ordered up my usual start off double round of Miller Lt. and started reviewing the menu. Now, I have been taught you don"t order cheese burgers at a chicken place and you don"t order chicken at a burger place. So naturally I stuck to the chicken and ordered buffalo chicken strips.

  These things were huge! For an easy on the wallet price of around 5 bucks you get 5 enormous strips of chicken cooked in their spicy buffalo sauce (also served with fries). I eat a lot and I could only get through about 3 of these chicken strips.

  The College of Charleston is located around the corner and apparently this is one of few popular local spots on King St. With live music at night and an awesome happy hour, the college kids are a common patron at the bar. I hope you like college basketball though (and the College of Charleston"s team at that), because this place is all about it! With CofC jerseys on the wall and non-stop college basketball playing on their bar televisions, you can bet it gets out of control if College of Charleston is playing that day.

  Check out the buffalo chicken strips or the buffalo wraps and as always, enjoy it with a refreshing Miller Lt. or two.
