If there is one thing I love it is a spots bar with decent food. You"ve been there before and you know what I am talking about, the sports bars that are so dirty you don"t want to rest your arms on the bar, sit in the bar stools, or even think about the bathrooms. That"s not how it is at Picasso"s Sports Café in the University area. It is clean, classy, and packed to the hilt with awesome lunch and dinner selections.
Located in a trendy little shopping mall right off Harris Boulevard this college sports bar is something unique to the neighborhood. Equipped with dozens of plasma screen televisions spread out and showing your favorite sports, the bar always has a crowd for major sporting events. The bartenders are quick and attractive. There is a lot of space for you and your friends (including a living room stocked with leather couches to kick back on). And so much more"
On to the food" Picasso"s defiantly has a pizzeria style twist to their menu. Dished out from the stone ovens and baked to perfection, everything from the Calzones to the pizzas will surely delight. I am a huge critic on buffalo wings. I wouldn"t say Picasso"s takes the award for their wings, but if you like them spicy (I can"t handle spicy) this is the place to be. For this trip I stuck to the pizza, pepperoni rolls, and calzones. You just can"t go wrong with stone oven backed Italian specialties like this.
Things to do at Picasso"s: Try the free shuffle board out. One thing I"ve found, if you have a date that you know is quiet and hard to talk to, take him/her to a place with free games like shuffle board. When the conversation gets boring, you can always make fun of how bad each of you are at it. Other attractions include the new golden tee game, foosball, tv trivia, and more. Just ask the bartender what you can do at Picasso"s to have fun" They will slide you a shot and say "hey man, relax".
