The highly anticipated opening of The Forum, uptown"s newest nightclub and Pravda, the adjoining vodka and ice bar was announced today. Conceived by the ownership team that created Cosmos Café, The Forum and Pravda will breathe new nightlife into the high energy corner of 6th and College. Both will open to the general public on September 30th.
Pravda and The Forum have been artfully designed by Yugoslavian-born architect, artist and sculptor Boris Tomic. Tomic utilized tactile accents in every facet of his design - from the paintings on the wall to the inlaid mosaics on the floor. Stone, copper, wood and metal create a warm and earthy theme throughout the lounge and nightclub.
Pravda is a 21st century speakeasy, a lounge that encourages conversation and interaction, and specializes in seasonally infused vodkas. The centerpiece attraction is Pravda"s ice bar, a giant slab of ice designed to keep imported and specialty vodkas at the perfect temperature for sipping. DJs will spin soulful sounds that create a natural counterpoint to the dance-fueled energy from The Forum next door. Pravda offers comfortable banquette seating, intimate tables for two with a 6th Street view and two generous bars for lounging. Guests at Pravda will also enjoy convenient "back door" entry to The Forum and access to the Roof Garden and outdoor patio.
The Forum shrugs off the typical dance club format and focuses on creating entertainment environments that encourage lounging, wandering, watching and lingering " even if you never get around to dancing on the curved wooden dance floor. The Forum"s interior includes raised banquette seating, a generous, yet unobtrusive dance floor and a sweeping iron staircase that leads to a mezzanine overlooking all.
Table reservations will be offered in Privé, a private seating area located behind the large main bar on the ground floor. Privé"s guests will enjoy a private door host and personal table service while enjoying the club from a more intimate vantage point - behind curved curtained windows overlooking the dance floor.
The Forum"s main room offers an ultra high tech sound and light show including Charlotte"s first installation of the EAW Avalon sound system. A new breed of professional DJ will spin popular dance music incorporating another Charlotte first " a brand new video mixing technology that fuses audio and video. Intelligent lighting will set the mood on the dance floor.
The Forum"s energetic dance floor will eventually lead guests to seek out the fresh air environments. A spacious outdoor patio overlooks 7th Street Alley, but the Roof Garden will captivate those who need to get out but still stay in the party. The Queen City"s only rooftop lounge, The Roof Garden offers patio and lounge seating under the stars and includes a convenient rooftop bar and restrooms. Cocktails on the roof are served with a side order of perfect people watching overlooking 6th Street, The Forum"s downstairs patio and 7th Street Alley. The Roof Garden will host everything from sunset gatherings after work to late night star gazing.
The Forum and Pravda are also available for private parties, banquets and corporate events, featuring state of the art sound and lighting, six full service bars and on-site catering.
Table reservations are highly recommended on every night The Forum is open. Please email Kevin Mitchell at kevinm@thecharlotteforum.com.
