The Shoppes at University Place will be holding its annual Summer Concert Series on Sundays from 5 to 9 p.m., June 4 through July 30 at the shopping center"s lakeside stage. Admission to the concerts and parking is free. "We are very excited about the bands we have secured for this year"s concert series," said Nancy Reitz, property manager for CASTO, The Shoppes at University Place"s owner. "We encourage the community to take advantage of this free entertainment opportunity by spending their Sunday evenings this summer enjoying great music while relaxing around our beautiful lake." The 2006 Summer Concert Series band line up includes: June 4 The Catalinas Beach / Variety June 11 Cookie Pop Variety June 18 The Breeze Band Top 40 June 26 Coastline Variety July 2 SuperGlide Hits of the 70s & 80s July 9 Right On! National 70s Show Band July 16 Rough Draft Dance Variety July 23 Fantastic Shakers Beach / Variety July 30 The Logic Pop Variety “We are thrilled to have a special appearance by "national" 70s show band "Right On" slated for July 9," said Reitz. "They are one of the nation"s top show bands who have performed for the last three presidential inaugural parties and have been the featured opening act for some of music"s top entertainers including Patti LaBelle, KC & The Sunshine Band, Hall & Oates, The Doobie Brothers, The Beach Boys, Morris Day & The Time and The Village People. Their show will keep everyone on their feet dancing all night long!" Participants are encourage to visit one of the Shoppes at University Place"s many restaurants including Boardwalk Billy"s, The Wine Vault, Lava Bistro & Bar and Stage One Bar (Shoppes at the University’s new live music venue) as well as enjoy a paddle boat ride around the 10 acre lake.
