What"s up Nightlife" It"s about time for my favorite holiday of the year, and I thought I would put together a little synopsis of events and related info for you. I will be adding to it as I get more info, so take note of the "version" number to see if anything has changed since you last read. Costumes Morris Costumes is definitely a place you should check out. They have 3 locations in Charlotte: 9015 JM Keynes Drive which is in the University area, 8124 Providence Rd which is in the Arboretum, and 4300 Monroe Rd which is around the Plaza-Midwood area. They have a very large selection of costumes, and a wide assortment of props, wigs, kits, and makeup to make your costume one of a kind! They even have costumes for your pet! Check out http://www.morriscostumes.com Ladies, The Red Door Store store has that sexy costume you are looking for! They"ve got over 1000 costumes ranging from Naughty School Girl to Dirty Pirate Hooker and everything in between! Check out the "Dirty Martini" costume! Very Original! You can shop them online at http://www.thereddoorstore.com or visit one of their convenient locations. There is one at 200 W Woodlawn, just off the 77 exit, and the newest store on 5301 Independence! They are having a special: BUY 2 COSTUMES GET ONE FREE! (in store only) PARTIES! Even though Halloween is on a Tuesday, there are parties everyday until, therefore I will break it down accordingly Friday October 27th: CarolinaNightlife.com is throwing a Costume Bar Crawl! 10$ ladies and 15$ for the guys. This includes no line no cover entry at all the bars and a seat on the party bus. Specials include 2$ Miller Lites and 5$ Bacardi drinks at all bars and clubs! The party starts at SOHO EAST in the University area at 8pm. From there the party bus will take you to Phil"s Tavern, Liquid Lounge with the Patio reserved exclusive for our crawl, and possibly another bar with time permitting! Email info@carolinanightlife.com to RSVP. Top Down Productions is throwing it"s annual SCREAM bash at Velocity again this year! I went last year and it was a blast! This year is being billed as BIGGER and BETTER! There will be more DJs than you can shake a stick at! 19 Headliners and 15 Locals will be dishing out breakbeats to the revelers. The event is starts at 9pm and goes ALL NIGHT! Limited presale tickets can be purchased for 10$ at Central Records, 15$ presale tickets available at http://www.groovetickets.com for until 10/26. Night of the party is 20$ unless you suck and don"t wear a costume, then it"s 25$. BOO BASH HAS BEEN MOVED TO SATURDAY, OCTOBER 28TH. The 22nd Annual Halloween Thriller Costume Ball is being held at Southend Brewery. Party starts at 8pm and is only 5$ if you wear a costume, 20$ if you don"t.. but what"s the point of going to a costume ball without a costume"" Expect a big crowd at this one. An FYI for those planning to attend The Boo and Brew at the Renaissance Festival, it has been CANCELLED! Saturday October 28th CarolinaNightlife.com presents The Dark and Sexy Halloween party at Liquid Lounge! Party starts at 10pm and it"s 18+ for ladies, 21+ up for the guys. 5$ at the door with a 2$ penalty if you come without a costume. Ladies are free before 11pm. CarolinaNightlife.com will be giving away 8 tickets to the Panthers game on the 29th for the best and sexiest costumes! Specials include 2$ Miller Lite, 2$ Stellas, and 4$ Bacardi drinks. Kiss 95.1 and Miller Lite are having it"s annual Grave Diggers Ball at Dixie"s Tavern. Attending will be Brett Michaels from the 80"s hair band, Poison. Party starts early at 6pm and it"s 18 and up. There will be a 1000$ cash prize for best costume. Kiss 95.1 personality Ace will be performing with his band, Charity Case. Not sure if there is an entry fee" CarnEvil is the party I will be attending on Saturday! I have never been, but if you check out Dane"s Photo Album from last year, it appears to be a great event. This is one of the more expensive parties, but it is definitely worth it! The fee is 25$ in advance and 40$ at the door. This is an indoor/outdoor event at the Hanford Mill on Hawthorne. Costumes are REQUIRED and you can check out more info at http://www.carnevil.org The Forum is having a pirate theme party called the Ghostly Galleon, Halloween on the Haunted Seas. Party starts at 10pm and there is a 20$ cover at the door. There is a costume contest with 1000$ for first, 300$ for second, and $200 for third. Table reservations are strongly advised, and Non-Halloween attire is considered MUTINY" ARRRGH MATEY! Cans is having a Moulin Rouge theme party presented by Guys with Ties. There will be live "can can" dancers and DJ SupaDave from 96.1 will be spinning the tunes. The best male costume will win 4 VIP tickets to the 2006 Meineke Car Care Bowl, and the best female costume wins an all-inclusive spa trip for 3 days/ 2 nights to the Kingsmill Resort and Spa in Williamsburg, VA. Tickets are 10$ in advance and 15$ at the door. The Breakfast Club is having 107.9 The Link Candy and Potter"s Monster Bash. There will be a costume contest with first prize winning 1079$ and prizes for second and third place. Party starts at 8:30pm and its only 8$ at the door. This party is for 21 and up. NV Lounge is having their second annual Boo Bash starting at 9pm and it"s 15$ with ladies free before 11pm. They are having a 1000$ costume contest for those that register by 11pm. They are advertising DJ SupaDave from 96.1, but as you have already read, so is Cans. Not sure how that one will play out, or maybe he can be in two places at once. Anyone with details on this email"em to me. The Visulite Theatre is having a costume party with indie rockers, The Noises Ten with opening acts Slow Runner and Baumer. Doors open at 9:45pm and tickets are 8$ to 10$ Tuesday October 31st Time Lounge is having a Costume Party with 1$ Miller Lites, 2$ Well drinks, and 5$ Jager Bombs. This is their famous college night so it is 18 and up. There will be a costume contest and a beer pong tournament. Todd Joffe and Single Cell are hosting the infamous Purgatory party aka Fetish Fest at The Men"s Club. The details are still a bit vague, but from personal experience" anything Joffe is involved with is a great time. There will be DJs, drink specials, and live stage acts of discipline and intrigue. Free entry if you buy your costume at the Red Door! This is a 21 and up event. Check back for more updates on this mysterious party! The Breakfast CLub will be hosting it’s 4th annual Thriller Halloween Bash. Not only are they having a costume contest, but a Thriller dance contest as well!
