If you managed to get your tickets to the 10th annual Charlotte Oktoberfest before they sold out, then you had a chance to enjoy a smorgasbord of delicious beer, live music and food! We took the advice of Festival Director Jason Randall and paced ourselves while sampling from hundreds of beer options from regional, national and international breweries. My personal favorite was Leinenkugel Brewing Company’s Berry Weiss which was refreshing, light and delicious! By no means am I a beer critic, but I can truthfully say that the never-ending beer selection satisfied every palate.
Although the grass at Memorial Stadium was soggy and wet, it didn"t stop our friends from rolling up their jeans and having a great time. The crowd was festive and lots of men in kilts and German beer girls could be spotted. Drive home services such as Y Drive and taxis were on hand for those who had a little too much fun.
This energetic event contributes around $50,000 a year to local charities, so it"s important to get your tickets early in 2009 to continue showing your support!
