CHARLESTON, SC - It"s roughly two weeks away from Opening Day at Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park, but the Charleston RiverDogs are addressing ways to help fans enjoy professional baseball by stretching dollars.
The organization recently announced that free parking will be available for all lots surrounding the ballpark on Sunday home games during the 2009 season. Additionally, kids will be able to eat free on all Sunday games at The Joe.
"We are pleased to be able to offer this incentive to our fans," said RiverDogs General Manager Dave Echols. "Our Sunday crowd has grown each year, and this is a way for us to show our appreciation and to help them enjoy professional baseball during these difficult times."
The Family Sunday landscape still features playing catch on the field before the game and story-time with a selected RiverDog player, but will see a bit of a facelift for the coming season with the addition of Kids Eat Free Sundays and transferring the opportunity for kids to run the bases to Saturday"s postgame festivities.
Opening Day for the 2009 campaign is April 9, as the RiverDogs host the Rome Braves in 7:05 p.m. start. For more information on season tickets and mini ticket plans, contact the RiverDogs at (843) 577-DOGS (3647) or visit the team"s website at www.riverdogs.com.
