  Mellow Mushroom Charleston Finally Gets Patio Approval April 13th, 2009 Posted by Hunter Wilson

  On April 27, 2009 Mellow Mushroom in historic Charleston will start construction on their second floor patio that is scheduled to be open in mid July 2009. The patio has been a dream of the owners of Mellow Mushroom Charleston, Michael Shem-Tov, Johnny Hudgins, and Joshua Broome, since the restaurant open in 2001. The patio will add 880 square feet to the restaurant’s 1,686 square feet.  When the patio is complete it will have a lush tropical feel.  Since there are residential apartments next to the Mellow Mushroom, there will not have an outdoor bar, live music, and will have reduced hours by closing at midnight instead of 2a.m.  The focus instead will be on outdoor dining.
