  Mellow Mushroom Hosts Their 3rd Annual Fund Raiser Cruise to Benefit Teacher?s Supply Closet April 26th, 2009 Posted by Hunter Wilson

  Charleston, SC. April 24, 2009"On Thursday May 7, 2009 from 7p.m. to 10p.m., Mellow Mushroom historic Charleston will host 3rd annual fund raiser cruise, Tantra: Cruise for a Cause, for The Teacher"s Supply Closet on board the three story, $4 million luxurious yacht, The Carolina Girl (www.carolinagorlevents.com).

  The event was created three years ago as a way to raise money and awareness for local non-profits that work hard to make Charleston a better place to live.  Joshua Broome, managing partner of the Mellow Mushroom in historic Charleston, says "Mellow Mushroom believes in helping those that help others; especially when it involves children, education, environment, or the arts".

  The Teacher"s Supply Closet is an organization that provides free school supplies to teachers in the Greater Charleston area who work at schools that have at least 95 percent of their students on the free or reduced price meal program.

  According to Tibetan Buddhist Tantric practitioner Lama Thubten Yeshe, "each one of us is a union of all universal energy. Everything that we need in order to be complete is within us right at this very moment It is simply a matter of being able to recognize it. This is the Tantric approach."

  Only 150 Charlestonians and Mellow Mushroom regulars will be attending the fund raising cruise. All guests are required to be 21 years of age and dress in business casual/ cocktail attire.

  Tickets for general admission are $55 and include open bar provided by sponsors Magic Hat Brewery, Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea Vodka, and Smirnoff Vodka complimentary food and music from provided by Rocky Horror.

  VIP tickets are available for $90 which includes access to the exclusive VIP lounge on the open air sun deck on the top floor, a personal server, complimentary food, complimentary bar provided by sponsors Magic Hat Brewery, Jeremiah Weed Sweet Tea Vodka, Bulliet Bourbon, Ketel One Vodka, Crown Royal, and Zwack Liqueur, and music provided by Rocky Horror.
