This past weekend, EpiCentre was buzzing with the grand opening of Enso. A new Asian sushi bar and lounge, this high-end restaurant will be a new hot spot in center city.
Wednesday night was friends and family night with everyone from politicians to some of the area's most influential personalities in the nightlife/entertainment industry. The night ran smoothly and wasn't overly crowded. A nice introduction from the new General Manager enlightened the crowd on exactly what was 'Enso'. Oh, and Wednesday was open bar on anything. Very nice touch.
Thursday Night was the VIP Night with hundreds of special invites going out. The line out the door the minute they were supposed to open was insane. The horde of people outside took over the main level of the EpiCentre. Red carpet and velvet ropes lead people into Uptown's new swankiest sushi lounge! The sushi, asian beer, and wine were all free and Enso had a naked sushi model on display! Another nice touch.
Friday was the 'open to the public' Grand Opening. CNL brought in a group of 20 people to check out the dinner. We had been drinking there for the past two nights, it was time to eat!
The interior space of Enso is VERY impressive. Kudos to the designers. Charlotte is starting to have a nice selection of upscale lounges. Everything is every elegant.
The food was as one would expect with such a nice establishment, it was amazing. There were some bumps in the service but that can happen at any opening. We were overly impressed with the food quality and presentation, especially when you consider the reasonable price for their food.
WRAP-UP:
Enso is a great new addition to the EpiCentre. Food is great and very elegant. Enso will probably be a popular early drinks or late dinner snack spot.
