The Contemporaries, an affiliate group of McColl Center for Visual Art, present "Palate to Palette 2009," a unique evening of art and wine pairings, on Saturday, October 24 at the Center from 7-10 PM. Guests will enjoy a wine tasting to entice one’s palette, as well as artists' discussions to explore the complexities of the creative palate. Participating artists and featured wines will be profiled and materials will be on hand so you can indulge your senses.
A reinstitution of the very successful and still talked about 2008 event, “Palate to Palette 2009” is a celebration for wine and art enthusiasts, drawing relationships and stark contrasts between the two mediums to create a perfect harmony. This is certainly not your mother’s gala, but is sure to be the must-attend event of the year.
Tickets are $50 but through a special offer from Carolina Nightlife, those who purchase their tickets today will receive a free Grave Diggers Ball ticket valued at $20 while supplies last. Grave Diggers Ball is the official after party of Palate to Palette 2009 and will be held at Dixie’s Tavern and features Backstreet Boys.
For more information or to purchase tickets, contact Sarah Lewis at 704-332-5535, slewis@mccollcenter.org or visit www.mccollcenter.org, tell them you heard about it from Carolina Nightlife and get your free Grave Diggers Ball ticket while they last!
All proceeds from Palate to Palette 2009 go towards supporting the Contemporaries mission of offering creative opportunities for individuals with an intellectual curiosity about contemporary art, to deepen, expand and cultivate interest and knowledge through interaction with artists nurtured through the Center's dynamic residencies and exhibitions.
This year’s event will feature 10 artists, wine from PRP Wine International, as well as additional beverages from Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, tastes from XO Tapas Restaurant, Delectables by Holly, Soul Gastrolounge, and lively music. Some of the highlighted artists are: Stefan Duncan, Darren Goins, Daniel McCormick, Tim and Lori McMahon and Barbara Schreiber.
