It used to be easy to find a college night on Wednesday night in Uptown, there was only one. Now, there are THREE. The Forum, Suite, and now HALO are all going up against each other for the Wednesday Night college crowd. Who will prevail? Will they all survive? Who knows but here are the details...
Each Wednesday night hotspot offers some pros and some cons. There is no obvious winner here. So, you make up your mind, we will just give you the skinny on the matter:
Suite is one of the newest dance venues in Charlotte. It is without question a very well designed and attractive nightclub. Patrons enjoy the elegance of the space, premier resident DJs, VIP tables, and many more perks including the extremely attractive cocktail waitresses. The downside of Suite is it is smaller than the other two venues and the bathrooms become very crowded, sometimes with a really long line.
-Drink Specials: $2 Beer Special, $5 Red Bull & Vodka, $3 Soco & Lime
-Parking: $5
-Cover: $5 over 21, $10 under 21.
The largest and oldest venue of the three, The Forum has a lot to offer patrons. The Forum has a huge outdoor deck, large dance floor, elevated VIP areas, elevated dance stage, amazing rooftop patio, overlooking mezzanine, plenty of restrooms, huge bars, and quick service. The only downside of The Forum is it is facing two newer venues and Charlotte is a honeymoon following type of city. This means people like to be where ever is new.
-Drink Specials: $2 Beers, $6 Red Bull & Vodka
-Parking: Free if you park beside Dixie's Tavern
-Cover: Ladies Free all night, Guys under 21 $10, Guys over 21 $5
HALO:
The newest player in the Wednesday night hotspot race, HALO is in it's second week of running PURE Wednesdays. They don't call it a 'college night' but neither does Suite. PURE Wednesday has free parking which is a huge benefit for the folks watching their wallet width. Other strong benefits of this party is premier DJs, fast service with large bars, amazing nightclub lighting and sound, and it is the 'new' party on the block. The downside of HALO on Wednesday is the location is out at NC Music Factory. This isnt a problem in itself unless if the patron wants to bar hop. The Forum and Suite can feed off of each others patrons that want to have a variety on Wednesday nights.
-Drink Specials: $2 Domestics, $3 Shot Specials, $4 Absolut Drinks
-Parking: Free Secure Parking
-Cover: Ladies & Card Holders FREE before 11:30pm, $5=21+, $10=under 21.
