St. Pats in Five Points brings partying, parading, dancing and serenading!
The date is quickly approaching for the 28th annual St. Pats in Five Points on March 13, 2010. This year, festival planners have organized a wide array of events and activities to make the festival more fun, safe and convenient.
Festival gates will be open from 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. to give festival patrons enough time to see all that Five Points has to offer. Admission is $11 in advance and $15 at the gate.
To ensure you wont miss a thing, heres a run-down of the days events:
8:30 a.m. Get to the Green 5K Run and 1-Mile Walk
10 a.m. St. Pats Parade (Free - Devine St.)
10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Wachovia Childrens Carnival (Free - MLK Park)
1 p.m. 6 p.m. Shaggin On Santee
Noon - 6 p.m. Live Musical Entertainment (5 Stages)
Dont miss a minute trying to find parking. Park and ride services will be available all day from Capital City Stadium on Assembly Street. Also, to get you home safely after a day of merriment, Budweiser of Columbia is sponsoring Alert Cab, covering the first $10 of the cab fare.
This years musical selection features 20 acts performing live on five stages, including: Jet, Saosin, Perpetual Groove, Robert Earl Keen and the best local music the Midlands has to offer. Prefer to dance to the tunes of beach, boogie, shag and blues? Check out Shaggin on Santee, a celebration of our state dance, with DJs throwing down throughout the day, shag lessons and live music from Jim Quick and Coastline.

March 12, 2010: Official Pre-Party Festivities Free on Santee Avenue
5 p.m. 10 p.m. Battle of the Bands
Six great bands. One Great Night. What better way to pre-party than listening to local bands battle it out for the chance to play on the main stage at St. Pats. Want to get in on the action? Then come early and register to be a part of the Rock Band contest
