Emerging out of the proverbial ashes & flames at the famed 300 North College Street building that housed trailblazing nightlife concepts Mythos and the Forum, the latest inception at the prominent party destination promises a new standard for innovative nightlife in the Queen City.
The second of a number of concepts to open in the newly coined District 300 block of North College between 6th & 7th Streets, Phoenix flaunts its size and scale at first glance with an expansive main room area featuring extensive floor to ceiling high-techery. A peek into the smaller room, Doma Lounge, offers a swank and seductive view into the mind of renowned local interior designer and all around denizen of hip, Scott Weaver. A quick skip up a flight of stairs past a Mezzanine VIP area and the door opens to a pre-Castro era Cuban inspired outdoor terrace replete with art deco colored walls, furniture, and vintage weathered wrought iron railings.
While Phoenix aspires to bring the big room super club feel back to Uptown, the nightlife impresarios behind the project known for their pursuit of creating the perfect party are not resting on the laurels of the philosophy of simply opening the doors and waiting for the masses to flock to that which is new. According to spokesman Kevin Mitchell, While Phoenixs innovative design is definitely a tour de force in and of itself; the project will offer a world class experience awash with aural and eye-candy at every turn. He goes on to say, In addition, Phoenix plans to host regular events featuring the planets top touring club and festival circuit talent. The calendar already includes globetrotting heavyweights Tiesto, Above & Beyond, Morgan Page, and Matt Darey. The goal is to establish Phoenix not only locally but regionally and nationally as a de facto must-stop over for touring international club acts and DJ talents.
