On Saturday, June 4th, the NC Music Factory will play host to the "MINI Rocks the Rivals" competitive test-drive tour. "MINI Rocks the Rivals" is a series of driving events taking place nationwide from mid-April through mid-June. Each rock-n-roll themed event invites anyone interested in a MINI vehicle the chance to test the MINI Countryman against three of its closest competitors in one visit and decide for themselves how it compares.
As part of the MINI Rocks The Rivals competitive test drive tour, MINI partnered with legendary rock band KISS to raise money for UNICEF to help children in Japan and emergencies around the globe.
MINI and KISS announced the partnership live at the New York International Auto Show on April 21st, where they unveiled four KISS-themed MINI Countryman vehicles. Each cars design represents one of the KISS band members iconic faces. Fans will be able to bid on the four custom painted, autographed MINI Countryman with the revealed design during a special Fathers Day eBay charity auction, the proceeds of which will be donated to UNICEF. The auction will open on May 29th and will run for 10 days.MINI owners can also help raise money by purchasing a KISS vehicle wrap for any MINI vehicle, available at MINIUSA.COM/RocksTheRivals.
Our hearts go out to the people of Japan in this time of great tragedy. We wanted to help and also to provide a real way for the KISS Army to get involved, said Gene Simmons of KISS. UNICEF raises money to help children who are still coping with the effects of these disasters, and also supports other very important emergency relief efforts around the world. Join the KISS Army in giving.
MINI and its owners have long been dedicated to contributing to philanthropic and charitable efforts, said Jim McDowell, Vice President - MINI USA. MINI USA had established a relationship with KISS as we kick off the MINI Rocks the Rivals tour in the US, and these fundraising initiatives were an ideal way for us to incorporate a fun, charitable component to the campaign with these original pieces of art.
A replica of one of the KISS-themed MINI Countryman will be on display at the June 4th event in Charlotte at the NC Music Factory. For further details about the local event and to register for the competitive test drive, visit HYPERLINK "http://www.HendrickMINI.com" www.HendrickMINI.com.
