The semi-annual Queen's Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week® will make its Summer 2011 outing from Friday, July 15, through Sunday, July 24. This summers promotion features 92 participating restaurants [see full list below], and the updated website is now live at www.CharlotteRestaurantWeek.com listing the restaurants' special Queen's Feast® menus and reservation information.
Charlotte Restaurant Week is a metro-area promotion during which numerous upscale restaurants offer a prix fixe, three-course (or more) dinner for $30 per person (not including tax and gratuity). Restaurants represented in the promotion stretch across many neighborhoods of Charlotte and around the area to Matthews; the Lake Norman area of both northern Mecklenburg and Iredell counties; Concord in Cabarrus County; Belmont in Gaston County; and Fort Mill, SC.
The previous Charlotte Restaurant Week in January 2011 generated approximately 85,000 dinners and almost $4 million in revenue for 83 participating restaurants.
New for this summers Queens Feast will be a virtual food drive to benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina, conducted via www.CharlotteRestaurantWeek.com. Utilizing Second Harvests new GiveABit system, with just a few mouse clicks, donors can place their choice of food items or cash in an online shopping cart and make a donation to help fill the food banks shelves during the typically sparse summer months. Second Harvest strives through education, advocacy, and partnerships to eliminate hunger by the solicitation and distribution of food to charitable agencies that assist people in need.
"We felt it would be an easy way for folks to help fight hunger while they're making their dining plans for Charlotte Restaurant Week, without the need for collection barrels at the restaurants -- which require a lot of the nonprofit's resources for delivery and pickup -- or having to remember to bring a food donation to dinner, stated Bruce Hensley, president of Hensley Fontana Public Relations & Marketing, which owns and handles turnkey execution of the event. "When visiting the CharlotteRestaurantWeek.com website to check out menus and make reservations, diners can also participate in the food drive."
The Summer 2011 Queen's Feast will feature a dozen first-time restaurant participants, including Table 274 in Cotswold; Epic Chophouse in Mooresville; Room 112 Modern Asian Cuisine & Sushi Lounge in downtown Charlotte; FireWater in the University area; 15 North Roadside Kitchen on Montford Drive; Savannah Red in the Charlotte Marriott City Center; Pisces Sushi Bar & Lounge in the Metropolitan; and Frans Filling Station in Dilworth; plus several others.
Additionally, some Queen's Feast restaurants will once again extend an exclusive offer to AAA members via the AAA Show Your Card & Save® program. Diners presenting a current AAA membership card while dining in those restaurants during Queen's Feast will have the opportunity to purchase a $50 gift certificate to the restaurant for only $25. The gift certificate will not be redeemable during Queen's Feast, and other restrictions may apply. To see a list of restaurants participating in the AAA Show Your Card & Save® exclusive member offer, diners should visit www.CharlotteRestaurantWeek.com beginning June 24 and click on "AAA Special Offer."
Reservations are strongly recommended; reservation links and contact information for all participating restaurants can be found at www.CharlotteRestaurantWeek.com.
