Known as “Your Baby Mama's Favorite  DJ“, DJ MIKETECH  is the “Official Party Starter” , keeping the music pumping and the women on the dance floor. He has rocked clubs from Myrtle beach, SC to Tampa, FL.

DJ MIKETECH hails  from Charleston, SC, growing up deep in the roots of musical culture. He is the son of an evangelist preacher, and a Veteran of the United States Army. His musical aspirations began in church with his love for playing the drums. His musical endeavors began to evolve when he got his first taste of secular music.

He began to follow musical influences such as Prince, Morris Day and the Time, Jimmy Jam &Terry Lewis, and Teddy Riley. He admired DJs such as Funk Master Flex, Jazzy Jeff, and Kid Capri. His musical journey took him on a collision course with a legendary Charleston DJ and on-air personality, known as Sean Dolby. Dolby took Mike under his wing right of high school. At the time, Dolby was one of the hottest DJs in the region. Dolby showed him the ins and outs of the industry by having him carry crates and help him set up his gear. He also gave Mike his first gig back in 1999.

Soon after, Mike received a scholarship to play football for Alabama State. It was the perfect opportunity to follow Dolby to Montgomery and continue to learn from this DJ and build upon his producing abilities. While in Alabama, DJ MIKETECH had the opportunity to work with and guest DJ for artists such as David Banner, C-Low, , Roy Jones Jr., Deuce Komrads, Ti, and DJ Who, along with a host of other Hip/Hop, R&B, Rock, and Pop talents.

Life threw Mike a curve ball , and he lost eligibility to play football for ASU. He decided to move back home to his native Charleston. Since leaving his hometown and the notoriety he had gained there before moving to Alabama, he had to rebuild himself from the ground up. He went back to college, and obtained his degree in Radio, TV, and Film. His career seemed to be on solid ground until tragedy struck with a double blow this time. Within a short span of time, he lost two of the great loves of his life: his father to cancer, and his oldest daughter in a drowning accident. He has continued to stand and reach for his dreams when others would have given up.

DJ MIKETECH is currently using his talents at Charleston's all new radio station, 92.5, “The Box” (WIHB Charleston, SC), where he is the producer for the nationally syndicated The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, as well as working in promotions. He also spins hits on Friday and Saturday nights at Charleston's famous Market Street Saloon, and guest DJ's on other nights. His southern charm and ability to draw people in and “get the party started” makes him one of the HOTTEST up and coming DJs, Producers, Directors, and Personalities in the Carolinas. You can also catch Mike hosting a new cable human interest and entertainment show called “Rutledge to Rodeo”, set to air this spring on WLCN (the Lowcountry Network).
